  7.     Manuel Noriega spent the holiday season in a Miami prison
  8. awaiting trial for drug trafficking, but he didn't forget old
  9. friends and supporters back in Panama. The ousted dictator
  10. mailed out a Christmas card bearing a cryptic poem: "God is who
  11. makes the time/ the sole owner of eternity. Because He/ knows
  12. it all/ and knows/ how and/ when . . .! This is my thought/ of
  13. meditation/ and from the depth/ I give you today in/
  14. Christmas." Could the former strongman be contemplating an
  15. insanity defense?
